About the Job
Speech Pathology for Schools is seeking graduate speech pathologists to join our team on a full-time basis. Your job will be to deliver a full range of speech pathology services at a mainstream primary or secondary school in Melbourne.Â
The SPS Graduate program is a structured 12 month program supporting you to develop knowledge, skill, and attributes to succeed as a speech pathologist working in schools. It provides an opportunity for you to receive guidance and coaching from experienced professionals in the field to help you succeed and grow in your graduate year.
The Graduate Program includes,
Dedciated weekly one-on-one sessions with your SPS leader
Structured learning days and observation days
Regular mentoring with a near-peer
Specific learning opportunities covering school planning, assessments, data analysis, interventions, presentation skills and collaboration within school communities (Leaders, teachers, parents)
As a graduate speech pathologists,
You will be based in a school whilst also being part of the wider Speech Pathology for Schools professional team.Â
You will be supported to collaborate with schools to improve oral language and literacy outcomes for all students.Â
You will work with school leaders to set the direction for speech pathology services for the whole school community including students, parents and teachers.Â
You will provide speech pathology intervention to students, either one-on-one, in small groups or in the classroom.Â
You will provide professional development to your school community on the science of speech pathology applied to a school context.Â
You will be provided with supervision, high quality professional development, coaching and career progression opportunities.Â
You will be entitled to seven weeks paid annual leave.Â

You will be a qualified Speech Pathologist eligible for membership of Speech Pathology Australia. You will hold a valid Working with Children check.
